Tips For Booking Last Minute Summer Travel

Though I urge my clients to make their travel plans well in advance, we don't always have that luxury. Here are some tips if you're scrambling to book a last-minute summer getaway.

Be flexible – whether it's date, destination or property, flexibility is key for last minute travel.

Use an advisor – the property you have your heart set on is booked? Not sure where to even begin? A travel advisor can take away the stress and plan a fabulous last minute getaway.

Take advantage of promotions – Sometimes being last-minute is beneficial. Hotels may have 3rd or 4th night free promotions (depending on the time of year) that you can take advantage of. Your travel advisor can access exclusive promos + add valuable amenities and benefits (think room upgrades, free breakfasts, spa and resort credits and VIP service!)

Think Off-Season – booking a fab room at a top hotel in peak season a week before departure is probably not going to happen. Consider destinations that are in their “off season” for most availability (like Deer Valley in the summer, or if you love the heat, Mexico!)

Most importantly, Go! –Spend time with your loved ones and experience what our beautiful world has to offer! Travel creates lasting memories, teaches valuable lessons to adults and children alike, and truly changes lives. It's what we don't do that we end up regretting the most, so take the trip!
